Pediatric Clinic

This project is set in a 1950’s ranch-style residential building zoned for commercial use. The clients are two pediatricians who recently partnered to begin a new practice. Their primary concern was the comfort of their patients. They requested an interior that was both businesslike and relaxing in order to reduce the stress that parents and children feel when entering a medical office. The solution was obvious… muted primary colors circulated throughout the building. By toning down the primaries, I delivered a comforting palette to adults while keeping the atmosphere fun for children.
Room requirements for this project included a reception and waiting area, three exam rooms, two consulting offices, a nurses station, a workroom, a business office, two restrooms (one ADA compliant), and a storage closet. Function, circulation and privacy were of great importance to the clients and were addressed through thoughtful space planning.
Additional features include color-themed exam rooms for ease of communication between nurses and doctors, and two chalk paint walls located in the waiting area, providing a unique and carefree experience for children.
